Skin cancer screeningOur Doctors are now conducting specific skin checks on any consulting day. We encourage you to ask your Doctor to check any skin lesions that have changed colour, size or shape and have your skin checked annually as routine.
Diabetes careOur Doctors at NMC aim to improve the health of all our patients through education and resources. Please speak to your Doctor if you have any concerns or would like further information or education regarding diabetes.
Health assessments for over 75'sOur nurse Brenda is doing home visits to patients over 75 yrs with the aim of providing a comprehensive look at their health and care in the home. This combines with a review by a doctor at the surgery. Please speak to your doctor about this service, Bulk Billed to Medicare. Brenda is co coordinating health assessments for over 75s done at the practice.
Bulk billed health checks for 45-49yr oldsNMC offers a thorough health assessment for this age group. You need to book in advance and complete a questionnaire to bring along to the appointment. The nurse does a series of measurements followed by a review by the doctor and the provision of some recommendations regarding your health.
Warfarin Clinics (Tues & Fri mornings)Doctors now conduct a clinic so that patients can have an “on the spot” test of their warfarin level / INR. This is a single finger prick. Patients are then able to obtain the result immediately and make any dosage changes upon discussion with the doctor, right then and there. It is fast and convenient for the majority of patients taking warfarin. Book at reception or ask your doctor.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait IslandersWe have implemented a bulk billed comprehensive health checks services for all ages. The program includes a pre check questionnaire, comprehensive assessment and recommendations. Many allied health providers can be accessed via this service as well for problems that may be identified.
Please note that Nambour Medical Centre is a private practice, however we do bulk-bill children under 16 years, concession card holders, including pensioners, and health card holders as well as DVA patients. Due to the increase in practice expenses as of the 1st of January 2020, Nambour Medical Centre will be charging a Standard private fee for all patients seen on Saturday morning. The exception is children under 16 years who will continue to be bulk billed. For a summary of our fees please refer to our patient information sheet or signs are located on the wall in the reception area. Please be aware that other fees may apply to cover costs of medical consumables e.g. injections, plaster casts, and some dressings but we will endeavour to advise you of these prior to their use. For your convenience we accept cash, cheque and Eftpos, and also credit cards, (except Amex).
CANCELLATION POLICY: We have had an increasing number of patients not attending prior booked appointments. In future if you miss an appointment without informing us at least 2 hr prior to the appointment you will be charged a $30 non-attendance fee before we will rebook an appointment. This will apply at the second missed appointment. Our Doctors realise that situations do arise when non-attendance is unavoidable, and these instances will always be considered.
